Why a Young Entrepreneur is Running in Viljandi’s Local Elections
Politics often feels distant from everyday life — something managed by career politicians, discussed in closed council rooms, and only revisited every four years during election campaigns. But local government (KOV) is the closest form of democracy to the people, shaping the environment we live, work, and create in. For me, as a young entrepreneur, the decision to step into this arena comes from both responsibility and opportunity.
A Fresh Perspective is Needed
Viljandi is a city with remarkable potential. From its cultural heritage and nature to its growing creative industries, Viljandi has all the ingredients to be a bold and forward-looking city. Yet too often, decisions are made from a conservative mindset — with hesitation, rather than vision. I believe younger voices can bring new energy, ideas, and courage to innovate.
Bridging Business and Community
As an entrepreneur, I’ve seen firsthand how funding strategies, technology, and partnerships can transform projects from ideas into impactful realities. Local government should not only be a regulator but also an enabler — supporting business initiatives, cultural projects, and community-led activities that bring long-term value. My goal is to bring practical knowledge from entrepreneurship into the decision-making process, ensuring policies are grounded in real-world solutions.
Involving the Next Generation
Youth engagement in politics is still too low. Decisions that will affect the future of Viljandi for decades — urban development, education, sustainability — are being made with limited input from young people. By stepping forward, I want to show that participation matters, and that change is possible when we decide to be part of the process rather than just critics from the sidelines.
Courage to Do Things Differently
Innovation doesn’t always mean grand revolutions — sometimes it’s as simple as rethinking how public spaces are used, how technology can make city services smarter, or how collaboration can break down silos between culture, sports, and business. I want to be part of a city council that dares to try new approaches, rather than repeating old patterns.
Why Now?
Because waiting for the “perfect time” means waiting forever. Viljandi deserves leaders who combine vision with action. As a young entrepreneur, I may not have all the answers, but I bring energy, openness to learn, and a belief that everything is possible if we work together.
In short: I am running because Viljandi deserves more than routine governance. It deserves ambition. It deserves courage. And it deserves to hear the voices of those who will live with today’s decisions tomorrow.
